2024 China International Risk Forum & China Finance Review International Joint Conference

Special Issue of the Pacific-Basin Finance Journal

Theme: Capital Markets and Financial Risk Management



Nanjing University, School of Management & Engineering, Modern Risk Society,and China Finance Review International will jointly host the 10th annual China International Risk Forum (CIRF2024) and the 17th China Finance Review International annual conference (CFRI2024) on June 14-16, 2024 China Standard Time in Nanjing, China. We warmly invite you to join us in Nanjing this summer. The conference submission deadline is February 28th, 2024.


The conference aims to promote research broadly related to financial risk management in the Asia-Pacific region and worldwide. As in the previous conferences, the Pacific-Basin Finance Journal dedicates a special issue to papers to be presented at the forum. The special issue has a theme of “Financial Risk Management”. All finance and financial risk management subjects will be considered. Potential research topics include but are not limited to the following (alphabetically sorted):

  • Ambiguity and ambiguity aversion

  • Artificial intelligence and machine learning

  • Asset pricing: capital market efficiency and anomalies

  • Banking and bank risk management

  • Behavioral finance and risk management

  • Catastrophic risk and rare disasters

Conference Submission:Interested authors should register an account via our submission website:https://cmt3.research.microsoft.com/CFRICIRF2024. Both completed papers and early drafts with innovative ideas related to the theme topics are encouraged. Please submit a PDF file without author information via the link: https://cmt3.research.microsoft.com/CFRICIRF2024/Submission/Index. The submission deadline is Eastern Time February 28th, 2024.There is no submission fee. Chinese submissions are welcome, as there will be Chinese sessions. Papers will be anonymously reviewed by multiple members of the Program Committee. Authors of accepted papers are expected to be available to serve as session chairs or discussants.


Submission to the PBFJ: The submission to the PBFJ special issue is separate from the conference submission and the submission portal will become available on July 15, 2024(tentative). Submission details will be provided shortly after the conference. The Pacific-Basin Finance Journal is a high-quality journal specializing in the publication of academic research on capital markets of the Asia-Pacific countries. PBFJ’s current Impact Factor is 4.6.  


Submission to the CFRI: You are also welcome to submit your paper to the China Finance Review International, a flagship academic journal that covers the Chinese and international financial markets. CFRI is indexed in the Web of Science, Scopus, ABI, EBSCO, HCERES, etc. The Journal boasts an impact factor of 8.2 and a real-time Scopus CiteScore of 12.0. It is also featured in prestigious journal ranking lists such as the ABS, ABDC, and the FMS Journal Rating Guide. The journal operates under a double-blind peer-review system. There is no submission fee. To submit to the journal, please use the CFRI’s online submission and review system at: http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/cfri.


Submission to the JMSC: Chinese submissions are welcome; there will be Chinese sessions. Papers accepted to the Chinese sessions will be recommended to “管理科学学报” (Journal of Management Sciences in China), and the standard review process of the journal will be followed.

Conference Registration

The registration fee for the conference is USD 150 or RMB 1050 for all participants. The registration fee will include the conference materials, coffee/tea break, conference lunch, and dinner. The registration fee is waived for session chairs and discussants who do not have a paper in the program. Additionally, students can attend the conference for free. Presenting authors should register for the conference before May 31, 2024.
