In order to further promote the construction of the experimental class of industrial intelligence and system integration in Nanjing University and improve the level of cross-fertilization research organization and talent cultivation in the college, Dean Yu Honghai led a delegation to investigate the National Frontier Science Center for Industrial Intelligence and System Optimization of Northeastern University in the afternoon of February 24, 2023. Guo Qingxin, Executive Deputy Director and Wang Jiahui, Deputy Director of the National Frontier Science Center of Industrial Intelligence and System Optimization of Northeastern University warmly welcomed our delegation.
On behalf of academician Tang Lixin, Director Guo Qingxin gave a detailed introduction of the development history and the construction of five disciplinary directions of the discipline of control science and engineering at Northeastern University, and also exchanged ideas and experiences of Northeastern University on the transformation and upgrading of the discipline in the new era. In the new era, the discipline of control science and engineering at Northeastern University is based on three directions: facing the frontier of international disciplines, facing the major needs of the country and facing the main battlefield of the national economy, so that academic research and industrial production can be deeply integrated and the diversified development of the discipline can be promoted. Furthermore, Director Guo Qingxin introduced the basic situation of the Frontier Science Center, pointing out that the goal of the Center is to be based on the national development strategy of intelligent industry, and to promote the deep integration of step-by-step automation and chain industrialization through intelligence, and to promote the research of system optimization, artificial intelligence core theory, and cutting-edge technology.
During the seminar, Dean Yu Honghai expressed his heartfelt thanks to the National Frontier Science Centre for Industrial Intelligence and System Optimization of Northeastern University for its warm reception and sharing of experience in discipline construction, and then introduced the construction of the pilot class of Industrial Intelligence and System Integration of Nanjing University. After the seminar, Dean Yu Honghai and his delegation, accompanied by Director Guo Qingxin, further conducted field research at the National Key Laboratory of Integrated Automation for Process Industries. Professor Wang Liangyong, Deputy Director of the Laboratory, introduced in detail the experience and achievements of Northeastern University in control science research, technological innovation and service to national strategies.
