In order to promote multidisciplinary integration and interdisciplinary cooperation within the School, the School of Management & Engineering of Nanjing University held the first Intelligent Decision and Control Cross Forum of this semester on 16 October 2024 from 14:00 to 16:00 in Conference Room 108 of Xiexin Building. Many teachers and students were invited to attend this event. The forum was hosted by Dr. Wang Zhengli, and two young teachers, Dr. Zhang Siqi from the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Management and Liming Yuan from the Department of Control Science and Intelligent Engineering, shared their latest research results, and the two teachers' presentations were also the 15th and 16th lectures of this forum.
Dr. Zhang Siqi from Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Management gave a lecture entitled ‘Algorithm Design and Analysis in Large-Scale Nonconvex Minimax Optimization’. The presentation introduced the recent progress of algorithm design and analysis in large-scale Nonconvex Minimax Optimization. In the context of artificial intelligence applications, the presentation introduces how to design efficient algorithms in Large-Scale Nonconvex Minimax Optimization, analyses the convergence performance of the relevant algorithms, and further introduces the theory of generalization performance analysis of these optimization algorithms, and finally introduces the application of this type of problems in distributed learning, proposes the relevant communication acceleration algorithms, and gives theoretical analyses and experimental validation.
Dr. Yuan Liming from the Department of Control Science and Intelligent Engineering gave a lecture entitled ‘Integrated Design and Motion Control Technology of Industrial Automation Equipment’. Aiming at the lack of unified planning and low design efficiency of mechanical-electrical control modules of production line automation equipment, he proposed an integrated optimization technology of machine-control parameters based on modern control theory in order to improve the flexible production capacity. He explored the application of optimal and robust control algorithms in precision motion control of multi-axis motor-driven platforms, and investigated the conservative reduction methods of their constraints. He also introduced the design technology of precision flexible micro-motion platforms for semiconductor chip manufacturing process requirements.
Participating teachers and students asked questions and exchanged views on the reports of the above two teachers. The forum was successfully concluded.
